What are Window Energy Ratings?
Window Energy Ratings (WERs) are similar to the energy efficiency labels found on kitchen appliances like fridges and washing machines.
An A rated window is the highest rating you can get and current Building Regulations (Part L 2010) requires all domestic replacement windows to be rated at C or above.

Most existing double glazed windows, even those installed in the last 10 years (when the first energy efficient windows were introduced) will only be an E rating at best.
Using PLANITHERM – the most energy efficient window glass – it is easy to achieve a C rating with most choices of frame or to step up to an A rated window. Many consumers are now opting for A rated windows as it gives them maximum energy efficiency for a modest additional cost.
